Ports and Harbours Division is responsible for the management and development of the Ports in Guyana. They provide Pilotage services to international vessels in and out of port Georgetown and New Amsterdam.
In addition, the Harbours is in charge buoyage, and the dredging of the ships’ channels in Georgetown. Navigation charts are also produced for all the rivers in Guyana, and tide tables are developed which give tidal predictions for the entire country.
